About Mike

Born and raised in Murray, Mike is deeply rooted in our district, heavily involved in our community, and continues to serve and give back wherever he can. Though Mike and his wife Kim are proud to raise 5th generation “Murrayites”, the concern for their 4 boys and their future is one that can’t be ignored. With growing concerns of safety, un-affordable housing, lacking of resources for education, and a rise in mental health issues, Mike will be a bold champion and advocate for our Community and State.

“Rooted in our District. Committed to our Community.”

Mike has a deep connection to the Murray community. He graduated from Murray Highschool where he played hockey and soccer. He loves the Murray school district and now gets to enjoy watching his boys be apart of it and is proud that his wife is an elementary teacher in the same district.

Mike also grew up working for Murray parks and recreation spending his summers working at the outdoor pool and the winters reffing youth sports leagues.

He attended Salt Lake Community College where he played soccer, served as the Student Body President and received his Associates Degree in Business. He then went on to the University of Utah where he obtained his Bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Finance. Mike currently works for the University of Utah Health as a Director of Operations and Finance and has held many roles in the healthcare industry over the last decade. He also serves as the Chair of the SLCC Alumni Leadership Council as well as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Sabu Help International, a nonprofit helping to empower individuals in Ghana through education and financial resources.

Mike loves spending his free time with his family in the mountains camping, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.
